Students feedback

Brian is an awesome teacher.  I met him about 6 years ago at  the Home & Flower show in Medina.  I took a class and got addicted. I also got my daughter, mom & grandma addicted too. I guess you could call us "Glass Junkies".  Stained glass is a great hobby to learn.  You can make wonderful gifts with your own personal touch to give.  And Brian makes the classes fun and interesting.

Hi I am Darlene,  Rene'es  Mom in Brian's first comment, we went to his classes together for a long time. We enjoyed his classes so much we just wouldn't go away! We made sun catchers, lamps, panels steppingstones and even a bench! I have just moved out of state and really miss the fun we had, it has inspired me to maybe try giving classes here because he taught me so well. Give it a try you will have fun!

I have been taking classes with Brian at Elfin Crafts Workshop for at least 8 years now and the ease of working there is one of the things that keeps me coming back. There is no huge investment in equipment or space to make at my home, and no end to the projects to do.  Each project I do leads to another project I want to make, so it just goes on and on.  I still marvel at the assortment of glass, colors, designs, etc.  It is unbelievable that there is so much variety.  Any project you make is different than the one before, even if you use the same pattern.  Each project brings with it a learning experience, maybe by the time I'm no longer around I'll at least begin to feel competent.  I have made all kinds of panels, kaleidoscopes, lamps, and suncatchers.  Also stepping stones and other unique items.  Mostly they have been gifts for others, however I have some really nice items I have made expressly for my home.  Please come and join us, as another aspect of taking these classes is the socialization, you will meet some really nice, talented people. Brian is an exceptionally patient and knowledgeable instructor.

Brian Hewit's Elfincrafts workshop has provided me with an excellent opportunity to learn the skills to create stained glass projects over a wide variety of subjects. Over the past several years, I have created seven glass panels, two lampshades, many decorative picture frames and several kalaidescopes. The class environment is warm and friendly with Brian always offering expert guidance as new challenges arise. There is no set curriculum, so one is free to select projects. Brian has an abundance of pattern books on hand as well as a very large selection of glass and tools. Nevertheless, he is always eager to obtain anything you may need at less than retail price. Students are helpful toward each other and eager to share their knowledge with each other. It's a fun place to work and relax at the same time.

Classes at the Elfin Craft Workshop with Brian has been one of my greatest adventures. I never thought I could do this kind of craft and Brian taught me how. The classes have been informal, educational, and fun. I have created works of glass I would have never thought possible - window panels, kleenex boxes, kaleidoscopes and many items for the holidays.
